Home cleaning toolsWashing Microfiber towels by hand is one of the most straightforward cleaning methods to properly caring of your cleaning tools, but using a washing machine isn’t bad at all besides that you’ll need a good cleaning detergent.

What are the benefits of microfiber towels?

Microfiber towels' high absorption ability High water absorption ability:

Microfiber cloth, which adapts the technology of orange shaping, will increase the surface of the microfiber and the pores in the fiber. In addition, it has many capillary cores to improve its water absorption ability. For this reason, absorbing water and drying itself promptly has become a marked characteristic of a microfiber towel. No wonder why microfiber bath clothing and microfiber hair drying towel win the heart of their customers.

– Decontamination Ability:

Microfiber towels have an excellent power of decontaminating and degreasing, thanks to the microfiber’s special transverse surface which can catch that tiny dust congregating inside the microns. By using the color-coded method for microfiber cleaning towels you will be no longer concerned by cross-contamination:
Blue: is used in lower risk areas such as glass surfaces and mirrors
Green: can be used for office cleaning or areas where food is handled and prepared
Yellow: is generally used for cleaning room surfaces, objects, and sinks
Red: is always used in areas of higher-risk of cross-contamination and infection such as toilets.

– Reducing chemical use:

Reduce chemicals by using microfiber towelsOne of the most know facts about Microfiber material is being a microscopic bacteria picker; it catches the bits of dirt and trapping them until adequately laundered. This great characteristic allows you to have a great house cleaning dirt free without using chemical cleaners or other detergents. Green cleaning is more effective when using Microfiber towels.

– Easy to use:

Microfiber mops weigh significantly less than conventional wet cotton loop mops, making them more ergonomic and easier to use. The effort of dipping and wringing a conventional mop is eliminated. As long as the used microfiber mop head is not put back in the cleaning solution, the user does not have to change the solution between tasks.

When we use traditional towels, especially natural fiber towel, the dust, grease, and dirt of the surface we clean will be directly absorbed into the inside of the fiber and remains there. Therefore, our traditional towel will lose its elasticity and feel hard after long-term use. While microfiber towel absorbs the dust between the fibers, instead of keeping it inside the fiber, the fiber number and the density of fiber is high. In this way, a microfiber towel is easy to clean. We only have to wash it by clean water or a little detergent after we use it.

Properly washing microfiber towels by hands, can be extremely easy, all that you need is following these easy steps:

1. Separate your towels before washing:

Considering that in the world of microfiber, as you may know, there are many different types of towels and cleaning supplies for everything from interior detailing and drying, to wheels and engine bays. Moreover, towels that are used for cleaning car wheels are dirtier than those used to clean the floors.
For that specific reason, it is recommended to separate your towels into different groups (interior, windows, kitchen, wheels…) before washing them. Washing your towels in separate groups reduces the change of cross-contamination during the washing process. By practicing this method, you’ll avoid for example embedding your window towels with that dirt coming from waxing towels and so on it can streak your glass when cleaning.

2. Use tidy water (not very hot)

Cleaning towels mean that you’ll clean up something truly nasty, to ensure that you’re removing the bacteria hidden inside it, you’ll need to use warm water and set the temperature between 15 and 20 °C. Using very hot water can ruin your towel and decrease its efficiency, in other terms the blend of polyester and polyamide (Nylon) will be affected because microfiber can burn or melt when exposed to high levels of heat!

3. Use the right brush:

Before cleaning your towels it is necessary to remove other struggling particles (hair, debris…). A soft bristle brushes allowing you to remove particles in the upper space of the microfiber threads so that the warm water will do the rest for you inside the threads.

If you don’t use a good quality brush you’re risking to remove particles from a surface and sticking them in another surface and you’ll damage your towel.
I recommend you the wood handle soft brush with its durable and non-toxic texture, and which would never damage the surface of clothing.

4. Use the perfect air dryer

It is an obvious fact that Air-drying your microfiber will make it last longer. Microfiber dries relatively quickly, that’s why using a Folding drying machine with heater is a perfect choice, but if you want to prevent your microfiber from picking up loose particles that often get caught up in high heat conditions you’ll have to set your dryer’s temperature low!

Even if you’re caring for your FAKE Microfiber towel correctly, it won’t last longer!
In cleaning products, microfiber is called split microfiber made of a blend of polyester and polyamide (nylon). In the highest-quality fabrics for cleaning applications, the fiber is split during the manufacturing process to produce multi-stranded fibers.

Microfiber fabric characteristicsThe split fibers and the size of the individual filaments make the towels more effective than other fabrics for cleaning purposes. Microfiber towels that are split are 200 times thinner than a single human hair so that it retains the dirt and also become more absorbent. Unlike cotton, microfiber leaves no lint, the exception being some microsuede blends, where the surface is mechanically processed to produce a soft plush feel: Microfiber has a surface area of cotton four times as large.

According to a recent research made by Tom Peglowski, general manager at Norton Abrasives (manufacturer of abrasive products and solutions): The amount of these splits determines the quality of the microfiber, so that the millions of fibers are producing a static charge only by rubbing together, and this charge attracts the dirt and never releases it until the towels are washed.
